our native village - www.ournativevillage.com

In 2006 Ram came back and founded Our Native Village - www.ournativevillage.com, an eco resort just outside Bangalore, in South India. He returned after a 17 year stint outside India to follow his dream and passion.

Ram had been researching aspects of sustainability for more than a decade before starting Our Native Village. Ram’s dream of developing a fully sustainable living model was put to test with Our Native Village. In a world filled with good intent, great ideas and eager consultants, the attempt at total sustainability in Our Native Village was recognised at the time of its inception, as the only commercial working model of sustainability. Our Native Village has since been recognised with global and national awards, and was featured in many of the world press including Asia Geographic magazine, MSN, India Today, Outlook traveller and BBC.

At Our Native Village, Ram launched the first institutionalized energy healing centre with the Soul Spa. The Soul Spa was the first of its Kind where guests went through energy healing sciences like Past Life Regression, Rebirthing Breath work, Sound Healing and many other healing techniques. The BBC featured the Soul Spa in a programme. Subsequent to this, a centre to heal life style diseases and conditions was established in Our Native Village. The centre used functionally integrated, evidence based traditional systems with great success. Rehabilitation protocols were established for life style diseases like diabetes, heart diseases, and auto immune diseases. The centre also dealt with neuro rehabilitation protocols for stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and dementia.

ram's consultation practice is in the field of applied sustainability drawing on his experience of founding and successfully running a 100% eco establishment. he consults for entities who want to get onto the path of sustainability for their enterprises. .

green dreams for the planet foundation - www.greendreams.vision

rams second company is called, Green Dreams for the Planet Foundation (GDP) is an environmental awakening and sustainability action enterprise. Gdp has been established as a not-for-profit Section 25 company under the Indian Companies Act. While GDP is a not-for-profit company, it is being run as a corporate entity with all processes and systems to ensure transparency, accountability and full corporate governance.

·         GDP will champion, propagate, spread the word about climate change issues, and initiate projects to reduce the effects of climate change.

There is a general lack of awareness towards issues surrounding climate change. The public at large, students and environmental volunteers and workers are passionately working on environmental issues. However they have not had a chance to understand the science behind and fundamental issues that govern climate change. When this understanding is spread, their work in the environmental sector is more meaningful and more in depth.

·         GDP will identify, facilitate and implement sustainability solutions and technologies that will help promote green living

Sustainable technologies are moving forward at a rapid pace. People within the sector are aware of the changes and advancements. However, the community at large is unaware of all the possibilities. GDP will spread the word of new sustainable technologies and help implement them. These sections of society will include rural India, urban poor, common citizens and corporations.

·         GDP will act as a think tank to given inputs that influence policy making at a local, regional, national and international level.

GDP hopes to assemble a panel of experts from around the world, who will act as a think tank for India. There is a lot of advanced and cutting edge thinking from around the world, that we need to harvest for the benefit of India. GDP will facilitate this through regular newsletters, research studies, publication of papers and organising conferences & workshops.

gdp has identified projects that it will take up in the next 5 years with csr funds from the corporate world. all thes eprojects are listed in the website - ww.greendreams.vision.
